Losing Trend Continues for Fresno
|
The Washington Wildthings beat the Fresno Running Rebels, 8-6, at Running Rebels Ballpark. The win was due in part to left fielder Jonathan House, who went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. With the win, last-place Washington is 26-103.
Jim Unknown had a big 2-run home run for the Wildthings in the top of the fifth inning. With Washington leading 3-2 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a knuckle curve from 20-year old right-handed pitcher Victor Montoya and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Wildthings on top, 5-2.
"This losing is getting old," said Fresno manager Jayden Edwards.
