Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Libertyville Polecats and Aurora Suns.

The Aurora Suns got a superb performance from pitcher Charlie Hunter, but the Libertyville Polecats still won the game, 6-4. Hunter threw 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball. John Turner picked up the win, lifting his record to 8-8 on the season. He struck out 4 and walked 2 in 7 innings, while yielding 4 runs. Ruben Moralez nailed down his 8th save.

Libertyville used a clutch hit from Jon Olejniczak to snatch the win. The second baseman belted a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Polecats ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit, but it was huge.

"Credit where credit is due," said Olejniczak, "this was a team win."

The first-place Polecats hiked their record to 79-50.
