The Rohnert Park Cougars defeated the Washington Wildthings, 6-3, in Eastern AA action at Red Barons Ballpark. Rohnert Park pitcher Orlando Roque had a standout performance. Rohnert Park, at 64-67, occupies 5th place in the Eastern AA Southen Division.

Rohnert Park used a clutch at-bat from Steve Nalbach to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Cougars ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"You have to trust that what you're doing is going to produce results," said Roque.
