With second baseman Justin Bauer leading the charge, the Carolina Reapers defeated the Hollywood Stars, 5-1, at Reedy River Stadium. Bauer, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2016 draft, slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. B.J. Rudolph earned the win. Jason Hollenbeck, who is tied for 2nd in the NC in strikeouts with 45, took the loss for Hollywood. The save went to Pat Eisen, his 1st this season.

Mike Green had a big solo home run for the Reapers in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Carolina leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a sinker from Jason Hollenbeck, who is tied for 4th in the NC with a 11.8 K/9 rate, and punished it. The result was his 9th home run of the season, which put the Reapers on top, 2-0.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Bauer.

The Stars drop to 11-16 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2023 season.
