Corpus Christi starter Ben Whitman pitched well against the Alcoa Millionaires at Alcoa Grounds. The left-hander led his team to a win, 5-4. Corpus Christi reliever Josh Maughan picked up the win, upping his record to 6-2. Gabe Mondragon was saddled with the loss. Joe Townsend earned the save for Corpus Christi, his 13th of the year.

Jon Pitts went 1-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Corpus Christi. With two out and the game tied in the top of the ninth inning, Pitts had a clutch at-bat. Facing Alcoa hurler Pat Hanson, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run to give the Mermen a 5-4 lead.
