Not everyone stuck through the 17-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.
In the 3-1 Traverse City win over Washington, the impact of Travis Greer was substantial. Greer went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 3 times. Jason Casale, 3-4, earned the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 3.1 innings.
Traverse City catcher Wally Bodin contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 47th hit of the season and put the Bears ahead, 3-1.
"Our offense was purring," said Traverse City manager Zach Hildebrant. "Like a well-oiled machine."
Traverse City is now 61-67, while Washington is 28-100.
