Winchester pitcher Brian Treadway did his part in helping his team beat the Mesa Razor Sharks, 5-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Earning his 7th save of the year was Gilberto Cortez. The Eastern AA Southen Division-leading Mountaineers have a record of 98-29.

The Mountaineers got a big boost from center fielder Ryan Matthews who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Razor Sharks hurler Nate Roberson. It was his 27th walk of the season and put Winchester on top, 1-0.

"We've got a great group of guys," Treadway said, "and we're having fun right now."
