Behind a fine performance from Josh Kreisle, the Corpus Christi Mermen knocked off the Riverside Rotters, 4-2. Kreisle went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles for the Mermen. Bryce Lowe earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. He upped his record to 1-4. The Mermen raised their record to 61-65.

Corpus Christi took a 4-2 lead on Carlos Aguirre's 16th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Aguirre hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Riverside pitcher Greg Forness visibly frustrated.

Aguirre called the win "a collective effort."
