Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Fresno Running Rebels and Traverse City Bears.

The Fresno Running Rebels withstood an impressive performance by Traverse City third baseman Ricky Martinez to defeat the Bears, 5-4, at Running Rebels Ballpark. Martinez went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2. Fresno reliever Joe Reddick picked up the win, upping his record to 1-2. Alex de Jesus absorbed the loss.

Fresno got a knockout punch from Luke Peiffer. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"I felt good up there," said Peiffer. "I saw the ball well."
