Eskimo Brothers Score Late to Nip Bears, 5-4
|
The Encinitas Eskimo Brothers picked up a win at EBDBBNB Park, downing the Traverse City Bears, 5-4. On the mound for Encinitas was right-hander Jae-weong Hyun, who played a pivotal role in the win. Encinitas reliever Danny Wagner picked up the win, upping his record to 6-4. Jason Eppert took the loss. The loss makes Traverse City 48-76.
The climactic moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Encinitas. That's when 22-year old center fielder Cameron Kovatch hit a solo home run off Jason Eppert to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.
"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Hyun. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
