Boston got a decent performance from pitcher Scott Johnson, but it wasn't enough to beat the Toronto Trash Pandas. Toronto won the Whislters Park contest, 4-2. Johnson threw 6.2 innings allowing 3 runs for the losing team. Frank Sarabia, the winning pitcher, improved to 2-3. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 4 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 3. Tom Mott earned the save for Toronto, his 6th of the year.

Bob Cook, who finished 4th in the NC in OPS with .835 in 2016, had a direct impact on the outcome. Cook contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Toronto up, 3-2.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Trash Pandas manager Matt Armijo.

Toronto goes to 13-14.
