Adam Matthews brought his A-game to help Boise defeat the Libertyville Polecats, 3-1. The winner was Matthews. He threw 6.0 innings allowing 1 run. The loser was Steve Dunham. Boise has a record of 69-54, placing them third in the Eastern AA Southen Division.
The Dread Kings got a big at-bat from left fielder Omari Baker. For the game, Baker went 1 for 2 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Boise a 2-0 lead.
Baker told the Boise Chronicle: "Sometimes the big stage is not big enough for me."
