Led by Mike Hankins, the Winchester Mountaineers downed the Libertyville Polecats, 8-1. Hankins went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Mountaineers. The Mountaineers, at 93-29, have a comfortable 22½-game lead in their division.

Hankins had an important at-bat with the bases loaded in the top of the sixth, when he drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Mountaineers went on to win.

"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Winchester skipper Mitchell Young.
