Chiefs Topple Bears, 6-2

The Mescalero Chiefs picked up a win at Greensboro Grounds, knocking off the Traverse City Bears, 6-2. Starting pitcher Victor Luna was a big reason why. The 'W' lifts Mescalero's record to 69-51.
Mescalero used the timely hitting of Travis Letner to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Chiefs on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Luna said afterward that his team has grown over the course of the season, adding: "It feels good when a plan comes together."
