The Fresno Running Rebels routed the Washington Wildthings, 12-1, at Running Rebels Ballpark. Justin Jirkovsky, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2018 draft, was one of the hitting stars. He was 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for Fresno. Scott Clary picked up the win, improving his season record to 5-5. He struck out 8 in 5.1 innings. Washington is in the throes of a losing streak which has reached 20 games.

With Fresno leading 7-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Jirkovsky came up to bat against Washington pitcher Jim Hodgins. Jirkovsky hit a fastball to left-center for a 3-run home run. His 6th home run of the season put the Running Rebels on top, 10-1.
