Dread Kings Send Mesa Home with 6-4 Loss
|
No one was more impactful than Alex Mareno in the 6-4 Boise win over Mesa. Mareno, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2022 draft, was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. David Caldwell got the save, his 6th in 8 chances. The win puts Boise at 67-54 this season.
Boise grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Mareno hit a grand slam home run off Isiah Key. His 12th home run of the season put the Dread Kings out in front, 6-2.
"Winning is contagious," said Mareno. "We're looking forward to the next game."
