Big Day for Scoville in 11-3 Polecats Win
|
The Libertyville Polecats pinned a convincing loss on the Traverse City Bears, 11-3, at Field of the Polecats. Chris Scoville was a main factor in the win. He went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 times and drove in 3 for Libertyville. Mike Kendra earned the win for Libertyville. He lasted 6.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 11 hits, while striking out 8. With the win, he raised his record to 4-3. The loss makes Traverse City 31-86.
The Polecats got a big boost from left fielder Zach Amos who had a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the first inning off Bears hurler Danny Arroyo. It was his 18th RBI of the season and put Libertyville on top, 1-0.
"We hit the ball hard," said Libertyville manager Justin Thiede. "Line drive after line drive."
