Mountaineers Snatch Late-Game, 5-4 Win
Winchester beat Fresno at Mountaineers Park, eking out a 5-4 win. The win was due in large part to center fielder Zion Gilliam. He belted 2 home runs. Ian Muenkel, 5-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. Angelo Quezada was credited with the save for Winchester, his 5th of the season.

Winchester took a 5-4 lead on Jim Blanche's 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Blanche hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Fresno pitcher Phil Miller visibly frustrated.

Winchester manager Mitchell Young praised his team's "businesslike approach."

The Eastern AA Southen Division-leading Mountaineers have a record of 94-23.
