Rotters Go Down to Defeat, 4-1
|
The Encinitas Eskimo Brothers topped the Riverside Rotters, 4-1, in Eastern AA action at EBDBBNB Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Encinitas pitcher Mark Moore. Danny Wagner earned save number 25 this season. Encinitas is in first place in the Eastern AA Northern Division with a record of 85-34.
The Rotters had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Eskimo Brothers going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old first baseman George Foote came to the plate. Foote hit a 2-run double on a 1-0 sinker from Riverside hurler Jimmy Grams. It was Foote's 25th double of the year.
"We won," Foote told assembled media after the game. "I guess that's all that really matters."
