Adam Matthews, who is tied for 5th in the E-AA in complete games with 1, was terrific for the Boise Dread Kings in his team's 4-0 triumph over the Winchester Mountaineers. His performance earned Matthews rave reviews. The winning pitcher was Matthews, now 9-5. He tossed 5.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 7. The win for the Dread Kings raised their record to 66-52.

The tide might have turned in the top of the third, had not Adam Matthews made a big pitch. With the bases loaded and the Mountaineers trailing 3-0, he retired John Hall when the Winchester center fielder grounded out.
