Dread Kings Take Down Polecats, 5-4
|
Field of the Polecats was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Boise Dread Kings and Libertyville Polecats.
The Boise Dread Kings besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Libertyville second baseman Ryan Hamm by beating the Polecats, 5-4, at Field of the Polecats. Hamm was 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Boise reliever Antonio Hermosa picked up the win to move to 4-1. Brian Hennick suffered the loss.
Boise used the timely hitting of Nathaniel Powell to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Dread Kings on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
Boise manager Roberto Flores said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
The 4th-place Dread Kings have won 5 in a row.
