Chiefs Earn Late Win
|
The Mescalero Chiefs took Jimmy Grams's best shot and still were able to collect a win at Rotters Ballpark. The final score had Mescalero getting past the Rotters, 2-1, in 12 innings. Grams over 7.1 innings allowed 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 8. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Chiefs.
David Villanueva came through with a big-time hit for Mescalero. The left fielder smacked a solo home run in the top of the 12th inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
Mescalero manager Hunter Santiago commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
