Chris Zuniga, who is tied for 5th in the E-AA in strikeouts with 124, had a strong outing for the Rohnert Park Cougars against the Libertyville Polecats at Ballpark of Greenup. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-3 win. Jon Messer locked down his 9th save. The win puts the Cougars at 55-61, while the Polecats drop to 52-64.

The Polecats had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Cougars going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old third baseman Doug Stewart came to the plate. Stewart hit a 2-run home run on a 0-1 cutter from Libertyville hurler Mitch Wojciechowski. It was Stewart's 12th home run of the year.

"Chris was pretty good at keeping their guys off-balance," said Rohnert Park manager Michael Kelleher.
