English Mashes 2 Homers in 4-3 Mesa Win
|
Fans watched the Mesa Razor Sharks and the Traverse City Bears fight to the finish.
The Mesa Razor Sharks defeated the Traverse City Bears, 4-3, at Razor Sharks Ballpark. Mesa was led by 22-year old center fielder Sam English, who belted 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Josh Buxton closed it out for Mesa, earning his 5th save.
With Mesa leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, English came up to bat against Traverse City pitcher Xavier Williams. English hit a fastball to center for a 3-run home run. His 10th home run of the season put the Razor Sharks on top, 4-0.
"I like what I saw today," said Mesa manager Danny Schexnayder, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
The Razor Sharks now have a record of 56-59.
