Razor Sharks Losers, 3-1, Versus Washington
|
Mesa got a decent performance from pitcher Fernando Garcia, but it wasn't enough to beat the Washington Wildthings. Washington won the Red Barons Ballpark contest, 3-1. Garcia threw 8.0 innings allowing 3 runs for the losing team. Jim Unknown was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Fernando Garcia. Edwin Coney earned the save for Washington, his 18th of the year.
In the bottom of the third, Curtis Gilchrist delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 2nd, the Washington left fielder hit a 2-run double, putting the Wildthings in front, 3-1.
"Bottom line," said Mesa skipper Izzy Montano, "we didn't play well enough to win."
The loss makes Mesa 71-40.
