Hutchison, Shiners March to 8-2 Victory
|
The Charleston Shiners finished off the Hollywood Stars, 8-2. Much of the credit belonged to first baseman Tim Hutchison. Hutchison went 3-4 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Shiners. Andy Weatherholt was the winner. He's now 2-1. The loser was 23-year old right-handed pitcher Andy Waring. With the win, Charleston improves its record to 15-11.
In the top of the seventh, Elijah Moody stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Stars were trailing 8-2, but had the bases loaded. That's when Mike Walsh made a terrific pitch and Moody grounded out. Gone was the dream of a Hollywood comeback.
