Winchester and Mesa played a hard-fought contest.

Ryan Warren, who is tied for 6th in the E-AA in innings pitched with 133.1, never let the Razor Sharks get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his sinker, to pitch the Mountaineers to a win, 3-1. Winchester reliever Brad Williamson picked up the win, upping his record to 4-0. D.J. Attridge took the loss.

Winchester used the timely hitting of Ben Everly to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Mountaineers on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I like our moxie," said Mountaineers manager Mitchell Young.

The first-place Mountaineers, at 80-32, lead the Eastern AA Southen Division by 12 games.
