The Aurora Suns faced a tough opponent in Winchester pitcher Jonathan Malcolm, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Mountaineers Park by a final score of 1-0. Malcolm went 6.2 innings and allowed no runs. Aurora reliever Ken Staggs got the win, raising his record to 2-5. Scott Meyers was tagged with the loss. Aurora is 5th in the Eastern AA Southen Division with a record of 55-58.

Dan Ortiz came through with a big-time hit for Aurora. The designated hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 1-0. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

Aurora manager Oscar Figeroa commended his team for delivering "maximum effort."
