Cougars Win 6-5 Walk-Off
|
Alcoa right fielder Eddie Goni was sensational. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. But it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Rohnert Park beat the Millionaires, 6-5. Gabe Sprung picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Jay Altieri suffered the loss. The Cougars raised their record to 50-58.
The game reached a climactic end in the bottom of the ninth. With Rohnert Park trailing 5-4, Travis Stroupe delivered the decisive blow, stroking a fastball from Jay Altieri for a 2-run double. Ballgame.
"We couldn't have scripted it any better," Stroupe said in his postgame press conference.
