Riding the 2-hit performance of the 29-year old center fielder Ryan Barker, the Winchester Mountaineers stopped the Riverside Rotters, 7-1. Winchester reliever Jaiden Harvey was the winner. His record is now 7-0. Micah Smith took the loss. Winchester, at 82-28, sits in first place in the Eastern AA Southen Division.

With Winchester leading 2-1 in the top of the fifth, Barker hit a run-scoring single off Riverside hurler Micah Smith. It was the 60th hit of the season for Barker and put his team ahead, 3-1.

"You score one run, you're not going to win," said Riverside skipper Adrian Mercado. "You can have three Koufaxes and three Drysdales, you're still not going to win."
