Bears Grind Out 2-1 Win
|
Traverse City Bears pitcher Jeremy Schroeter was in top form, leading his team past the Boise Dread Kings, 2-1. Alex de Jesus closed out the game, earning his 10th save. The win makes Traverse City 50-60.
Jim Ells had a big solo home run for the Bears in the bottom of the third inning. With Traverse City leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a cutter from Jean Thiébaut, who is tied for 8th in the E-AA in complete games with 1, and punished it. The result was his 12th home run of the season, which put the Bears on top, 2-0.
"I pretty much put my pitches where I wanted to," said Schroeter.
