The Encinitas Eskimo Brothers stopped the Mescalero Chiefs, 10-4, at EBDBBNB Park. The Eskimo Brothers got a big game from Sergio Soto, who went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Encinitas reliever Chris Porter snagged the win, upping his record to 4-1. Victor Luna shouldered the loss. Encinitas has now won 7 games in a row.

The Chiefs had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Eskimo Brothers going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 26-year old second baseman Jason Hoover came to the plate. Hoover hit a bases-clearing double on a full count fastball from Mescalero hurler Victor Luna. It was Hoover's 14th double of the year.

"The vibe's good," said Encinitas manager Logan Greening. "We've got to keep it going."
