Down to Defeat Goes Rohnert Park, 5-2
|
Larry Bute, who is tied for 8th in the E-AA in innings pitched with 120.1, was locked in. The right-hander led the Washington Wildthings to a 5-2 win against the Rohnert Park Cougars at Red Barons Ballpark. Earning his 3rd save of the year was Nick Sullivan. The win gives the Wildthings a record of 20-88.
Mike Scharn dealt the Cougars a blow in the bottom of the seventh. Batting with the bases loaded and Washington leading 2-1, Scharn, who is tied for 4th in the E-AA in doubles with 23, hit a 2-1 sinker for a run-scoring single.
"What's not to like about a win?" said Bute.
