Eagles Earn Late 3-2 Win
|
Indianapolis and Tampa Bay duked it out and the Eagles came out victorious.
The Indianapolis Eagles picked up a win at Eagles Stadium, taking down the Tampa Bay Captains, 3-2, in 11 innings. On the mound for Indianapolis was right-hander Jesse Walker. He played a central role in the triumph. Cameron Hutchinson notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record now sits at 1-0.
The Eagles got a clutch hit from center fielder John Thaxton. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Eagles.
"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Thaxton said.
The victory makes Indianapolis 2-1.
