Thanks in large part to right fielder Travis Letner, the Mescalero Chiefs beat the Boise Dread Kings, 7-6. Letner went 2 for 4 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times. Mescalero is in third place in the Eastern AA Southen Division with a record of 60-50.

Letner had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a 0-2 curveball from Luke Getts, he banged a solo home run to right-center, giving the Chiefs a 7-6 lead. It was the 18th home run of the year for Letner.

"We'll take this win and move on," said Letner.
