Chicago Pockets 4-2 Win Over Maine
|
The Chicago Gangsters converted a terrific effort from starter Adrian Huffine into a win over the Maine Pines at Oakhurst Field. The Gangsters won the game by a final score of 4-2. Huffine picked up the win for Chicago, going 5 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 2-1. Keith Kramer earned the save for Chicago, his 3rd of the year.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Ken Castro? The Chicago left fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Gangsters on top, 1-0. For the game, Castro had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Maine skipper David Whigham, "and it cost us."
Chicago sits at 8-18 in the early going.
