Eagles Even Record with 5-4 Victory
With Henry Cortez leading the charge, the Indianapolis Eagles defeated the Syracuse Scorpions, 5-4. Cortez was 1-2 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Eagles. Joseph Scale, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 1.1 innings. The loss drops the Syracuse record to a disappointing 11-15.

Indianapolis took a 5-3 lead on Cortez's 4th home run of the season. The solo home run, which he hit off Ritsuo Matsuoka in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Indianapolis to the win.

"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Cortez.
