Running Rebels Overcome Great Performance by Diaz in Win
Despite a fine performance by center fielder Angelo Diaz, the Encinitas Eskimo Brothers lost to the Fresno Running Rebels, 8-5. Diaz went 3-4 with a home run and a triple, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. The win went to Marvin Henderson in relief, making him now 2-2. Danny Martinez took the loss for Encinitas. The save went to Scott Clary, number 2 for him.

Fresno needed the clutch hitting of Eric Breene to notch the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Running Rebels on top, 8-5. For the game, Breene had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Breene.

After today's action, Fresno sits at 58-47; Encinitas slips to 67-38.
