Dread Kings Lose Late to Polecats
The Libertyville Polecats downed the Boise Dread Kings, 5-1, at Ballpark of Boise. Stellar pitching by Glenn Yarrington had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is tied for 10th in the E-AA in wins with 8, handcuffed his opponent all game. The winning pitcher was Yarrington, now 8-4. He tossed 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 6. The third-place Polecats are 53-52.

Libertyville used a clutch hit from Mike Horstman to snatch the win. The right fielder belted a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Polecats ahead, 5-1. It was his only hit, but it was huge.

Said losing manager Sean Drummond: "It's very easy to sit in an ivory tower and critique the pitching, but the bottom line is we need to score runs."
