Stewart Powers Cougars to 9-1 Win
|
Doug Stewart had a 4-RBI game, during Rohnert Park's 9-1 triumph over the Alcoa Millionaires. Stewart contributed 2 singles and 1 home run to the cause. Joe Russell got credit for the win, improving to 5-9. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 6.2 innings. Jason Ginty earned the save, his 3rd, for the Cougars.
Stewart contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Rohnert Park in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Stewart took a fastball from Omar Vega and stroked the home run to right. His 11th home run of the season allowed the Cougars to leap in front, 3-1.
"We had a nice day," said Rohnert Park skipper Michael Kelleher.
Rohnert Park now sports a record of 49-56.
