Boosted by the 2-hit performance of John Andrews, who is tied for 9th in the E-AA in triples with 2, the Encinitas Eskimo Brothers defeated the Mesa Razor Sharks, 8-2. Joel Daniels, the winning pitcher, improved to 13-5. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 7 hits and 1 run, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Encinitas's record now stands at 72-32, placing them second in the Eastern AA Northern Division.

The Eskimo Brothers got a big boost from designated hitter A.J. Cook who had a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the first inning off Razor Sharks hurler Eric Zane. It was his 33rd RBI of the season and put Encinitas on top, 1-0.

"What a dismal performance," lamented losing manager Danny Schexnayder.
