Loss to Mountaineers Extends Washington Losing Streak
|
The Winchester Mountaineers stopped the Washington Wildthings, 6-1, at Red Barons Ballpark. The Mountaineers got a big game from Harry Williams, who went 4-5 with a home run and 2 doubles. The losses continue to mount for Washington, which has now dropped 6 in a row.
Josh Laster had a big 3-run home run for the Mountaineers in the top of the fourth inning. With Winchester leading 2-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he sized up a slider from 23-year old left-handed pitcher Frank Tressler and punished it. The result was his 13th home run of the season, which put the Mountaineers on top, 5-0.
Williams called the win "a collective effort."
