Cougars Get Past Riverside for 3-2 Win
|
The Rohnert Park Cougars took Riverside pitcher Carl Bennett's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Rotters Ballpark. The final score had Rohnert Park getting past the Rotters, 3-2. Bennett went 7 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 5. Rohnert Park reliever Jason Senita was the winner. His record is now 3-3. Josh Carlson took the loss. Rohnert Park is now 48-54.
In the top of the eighth, Rohnert Park got a clutch hit from Bill Dent. The left fielder belted a 2-run home run, putting the Cougars up, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a decisive one.
"There's still time to turn this season around," said Dent.
