Vanegas, Suns Beat Wildthings, 10-6
|
With second baseman Victor Vanegas leading the charge, the Aurora Suns defeated the Washington Wildthings, 10-6, at Suns Field. Vanegas went 3-4 with 2 home runs and a double. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. The losing skid has reached 13 games for Washington.
The Suns got an important contribution from shortstop Willie Trevino, who in the bottom of the third hit a full count fastball to left for a 3-run home run. It was his 12th home run of the season and put the Suns ahead, 4-0.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Vanegas, "one at-bat at a time."
