Giants Pick Up 4-1 Road Win Over Phoenix
Quito Herrera was terrific for the Detroit Giants in his team's 4-1 triumph over the Phoenix Gladiators. His performance earned Herrera rave reviews. In 5.2 innings, Herrera surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. The loss drops Phoenix to 13-13.

Angelo Mejia helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he hit a 0-2 fastball from Bob Rehm for a 2-run home run, to give Detroit a 2-0 lead.

"It's a mindset," said Herrera. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
