Washington Falters Again, Loses, 9-2, to Winchester
Winchester pitcher Scott Sauer had a large part in his team beating the Washington Wildthings, 9-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The losses continue to mount for Washington, which has now dropped 9 in a row.

The Mountaineers got a big hit from designated hitter Ben Blake. Facing Washington pitcher Jose Suazo in the top of the ninth, Blake pounded a 3-run home run to center. His 5th home run of the season put the Mountaineers ahead, 9-2.

"From the last whatever, five, six, seven games, there's really only one way to go and that's up," said losing manager Danny Sanchez.
