Hoffman Helps Traverse City Outscore Aurora
|
The Traverse City Bears beat the Aurora Suns in a game featuring much hitting but not much pitching. The final score was 12-10, Bears. One of the hitting stars was first baseman Marcus Hoffman. Hoffman, who leads the E-AA in bases on balls with 80, went 3-3 with 3 singles and 2 walks. He scored 4 times. Dale Kneale came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record now stands at 3-4. The win makes Traverse City 27-75.
Traverse City grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, David Alvarez delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 10-9, in favor of the Bears.
Alvarez told a local reporter: "My job is to go out and play as hard as I can."
