Mountaineers Take Down Wildthings, 4-1
|
Winchester Mountaineers pitcher Denny Mason was in top form, leading his team past the Washington Wildthings, 4-1. Washington's current losing streak is now 8 games.
Winchester needed the clutch hitting of Jason Lewis to seal the deal. The third baseman swatted a 3-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Mountaineers on top, 4-1. For the game, Lewis had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
Lewis told a Winchester Observer reporter that he felt "elated" after the win.
