The Corpus Christi Mermen downed the Traverse City Bears, 8-7, in 10 innings at Mermen Field. The Mermen were led by Hiromichi Sato. Sato was 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The current losing streak for Traverse City has reached 5 games.

The decisive blow was delivered by Keith Roberts in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a solo home run off 33-year old right-handed pitcher Josh Krueger to win the game for Corpus Christi. The home crowd went nuts.

"We had the eye of a tiger tonight," said winning manager Arturo Colon.
