Polecats Edge Past Chiefs, 3-2
|
The Libertyville Polecats wiggled past the Mescalero Chiefs, 3-2, at Chiefs Ballpark. The win was highlighted by the performance of Libertyville pitcher Nate Billesbach. At 47-52, the Polecats are currently third in the Eastern AA Northern Division.
It could have been a different outcome for Libertyville, had it not been for Chris Lewis, the 24-year old third baseman . Lewis contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put Libertyville up, 3-2.
"We hit some balls hard and didn't get rewarded for it," said Mescalero manager Hunter Santiago.
