The Encinitas Eskimo Brothers welcomed the Mesa Razor Sharks to an night game at Razor Sharks Ballpark.
Encinitas Eskimo Brothers pitcher Jose Rivera was in fine form, leading his team past the Mesa Razor Sharks, 4-1. The first-place Eskimo Brothers, at 72-27, lead the Eastern AA Northern Division by 4 games.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for George Foote? The 22-year old first baseman Foote stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put Encinitas up, 4-1. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
Rivera called the win a testament to his team's "tenacity."
