Razor Sharks Collect 3-1 Win Versus Boise
|
The Mesa Razor Sharks scooped up a win at Ballpark of Boise, dumping the Boise Dread Kings, 3-1. Lílian Pona, who is tied for 6th in the E-AA with a 1.02 WHIP, was essential to his team's success. The winning pitcher was Pona, now 12-1. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. Moises Gonzalez notched his 26th save in 29 chances.
Mesa won the game in part because of Ty Lynch. The first baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Razor Sharks ahead, 2-0. For the game, Lynch had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"We did a lot of really good things and it was a good win," said Razor Sharks manager Izzy Montano.
The win lifted the Mesa record to 64-34.
