Dread Kings Dumped, 9-3, by Mesa
|
The Mesa Razor Sharks powered past the Boise Dread Kings, 9-3, at Ballpark of Boise. Scott Hoch provided some of the pop. He went 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Mesa starter George Robertson was credited with the win after throwing 101 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 9-0. The triumph puts Mesa at 63-34 for the season.
Mesa won the game in part because of Rick Brown. The left fielder ripped a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Razor Sharks ahead, 6-3. For the game, Brown had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Mesa manager Izzy Montano.
