Corpus Christi starter Charlie Hunter kept the Alcoa hitters in check, while his team cruised to a win, 9-1. This loss makes it 8 in a row for Alcoa.

Jason Finch had a big 2-run home run for the Mermen in the bottom of the first inning. With Corpus Christi leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a changeup from Israel Beristain and swatted a home run to right-center. It was his 11th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mermen ahead, 3-0.

Alcoa manager , after yet another defeat, remained upbeat. He said: "We're going to get out of this thing, we're going to come busting through."
