With Late Score, Cougars Beat Wildthings
|
Aaron Coakley had a good game, but he could not keep the Washington Wildthings from falling, 6-5, to the Rohnert Park Cougars at Ballpark of Greenup. The Washington left fielder went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once in the loss. Rohnert Park reliever Logan Penny got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Jose Suazo was tagged with the loss. Picking up his 9th save was 21-year old right-handed pitcher Chris Hinojosa.
Rohnert Park took a 6-5 lead on Steve Nalbach's 16th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Nalbach hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Washington pitcher Jose Suazo visibly frustrated.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Rohnert Park manager Ramiro Mendiola.
Rohnert Park is now 42-54. Washington is 23-73.
