Rohnert Park turned a good effort from starter Albert Espinoza into a win over the Traverse City Bears at Greensboro Grounds. The final score was 4-2. Espinoza, now 8-6, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. The defeat makes Traverse City 43-54.
The result might have been different, had it not been for 24-year old right fielder Matt Gaylord. Gaylord had a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Cougars ahead, 4-2. For the game, Gaylord had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
