Thrilling Victory Pushes Eskimo Brothers Win Streak to 5
|
The Encinitas Eskimo Brothers picked up a win at Chiefs Ballpark, knocking off the Mescalero Chiefs, 6-4. Starting pitcher Wade Mueller played a key role in the triumph. Encinitas reliever Matthew Gayheart got the win, raising his record to 4-2. Kareem Craig was tagged with the loss. The first-place Eskimo Brothers have won 5 in a row.
Tim Schellin delivered a big hit for Encinitas. The right fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Eskimo Brothers ahead, 6-4. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
"It's so much easier when you throw good pitches," said Mueller.
